Sabbatical 2020 - Infinity

Birds are not a new subject in my repertoire, but these birds most definitely felt different from what I had created before. Oddly, the Covid Pandemic has brought about a kind of sabbatical for me. Finally, after 30 years, I've had the time to develop work without the grind and hustle that goes with making a living as an artist. I allowed myself the opening and space to be truly creative and found these enchanting birds waiting for me. Throughout my 30-year career I've been asked, “What do the birds represent?” I can now see they are portals and portraits, mainly of myself, and of those I love.

They live deep within my psyche and soul.
